Nepal captain Sabitra Bhandari signed by A-League Club Wellington Phoenix

The leader of the Nepalese women’s football team Sabitra Bhandari has signed at A-League Club Wellington Phoenix until the end of the 2026-27 season.

«Sabitra, a national icon and Nepal’s leading goal scorer of all time. Her leadership, experience and excellence on the field will be invaluable, both on and off Instagram.

Bhandari recently led the national team in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifications, on which Nepal Sleep after losing a decisive match against Uzbekistan.

She has previously played for the Indian Women’s League (IWL) side Gokulam Kerala. Bhandari is currently the top scorer of all time in IWL.
