Ladies Euro 2025: World Champion Spain Knocks ends Dream Run of Switzerland to enter semi -final

Athenea del Castillo came from the bank to open the score, and Claudia Pina added an excellent second when Spain beat 2-0 2-0 from Switzerland on Friday to reach the semi-fino semi-fino of 2025.

While the Spaniards danced in a circle to celebrate the progress on the last four, the Swiss fans sang loudly in appreciation of the team, and the players bounced together when the hosts left the tournament with their heads, after they first made the knockout podia.

«The truth is that Spain has put forward a bit of that maturity, which insisting that I think it is important, because it is not easy in the quarterfinals, and in the end it was the mentality that the team had,» said defender Laia Aleixandri.

«The semi -finals were for the taking, and I think that weighs heavily. You had to be very careful in the back, because we always say it – we attack with many players and Switzerland was very good, but I think we were mentally very strong, not only me but the whole team,» she added.

The Spaniards formed an honorary guard for their Swiss hosts when they left the field. They will then be confronted with the winner of the other quarterfinals between France and Germany.

«It is a party, dancing, singing, as it should be. It is a step to the semi -final, I think we should now enjoy it. We will somehow discover our opponent,» Aleixandri added.
