To Sonora Pass (Mile 1018.1, Height 9643)
Up/descending (neither did I get, since my Garmin clock was to be strange)
I wasn’t very quick to go on this morning, but I felt quite fresh once I got to the road.

Although today’s climb was high, the path was soft, not too steep, and he didn’t feel so bad. But it was a mocking climb, where you would think that you are going to pass over only to discover that you simply passed a stimulus to cross another bowl and not start falling yet.
But there were excellent views in all directions, especially towards Yosemite.

I met a couple of hikers near the Royal Pico. They did not start as early as they needed to reach all the places they wanted. But I had been following them for a long time, so I know they went far. When we really met, they were curious about them, so we had a good conversation.
Shortly after, I met an adult father and son of an explorer troop in the city next to mine. We talk for a couple of minutes. They were planning a trip of 1 or 2 nights. It seemed that they carried many things and were fighting with the climb.

When I finished my lunch at the beginning of the path and was ready to start taking Kennedy Mdws North. Another couple left the path that took a shortcut, through a snowfield that ended up being a long cut. We started talking and they immediately asked if I went to Kennedy Mdws and I would like a trip. Fortunately I accepted.
On the way to his car and the trip, I knew that Josh and his daughter, Addie, were also interested in the increase. To satisfy Josh, Addie loves hiking and outdoor. She wants to walk on the PCT in a couple of years when she graduates from high school. They loved to listen to my stories and enthusiasm.
I entered Kennedy Meadows North’s lobby to get details about the place. Staying in his bedroom was reasonable (he included Wifi, Lavandería, a shower and a transport back at the beginning of the path). So I paid and moved my things to the room.

I had a fast lunch before the restaurant closed at 4:00. I shower, but the laundry had to wait until the machine was free. Then I visited the store to replenish Tahoe for the walk. The prices were very mixed. Many things were very reasonable, but several things were very expensive, like a box of oreos for $ 13. Fortunately, that seemed the exception, so most of the things I got were fine.
A friend told me about Sunday night’s rib in Kennedy Meadows North. For a little more money than a hamburger with double cheese in some places, it comes with a single trip to its soup and salad bar, a large cut of ribs, baked potatoes, corn, roll and dessert. When I finished, the friend asked me if I was filled. I could honestly say that I wasn’t hungry yet, but it wasn’t full either. My body yearns to replace all the calories that hiking spends.
