The world union of the Global Football Players hit FIFA and his President Gianni Infantino on Friday and said that their autocratic style of leadership was damaging the rights of its members.
«Football needs responsible leadership, not emperors,» said the FIFPRO network that after a meeting of 58 national players’ unions responded to FIFA who pursued his agenda with non -official player representatives.
«It needs less autocratic monologues and more real, inclusive and transparent dialogue,» the Union added.
FIFA announced two weeks ago that it achieved a consensus on important issues after Infantino had mainly organized a group of non-recognized officials in New York prior to the final of the Club World Cup.
The newest gap between the administrative body of football and the trade unions of its players flared up while the European Commission is considering a formal complaint against FIFA in Brussels. It was submitted by FIFPRO’s European division and national competitions in Europe against the FIFA style of governance and decision-making.
FIFPRO said that FIFA’s core agenda included a overloaded global competition calendar with too many games for elite players, lack of physical and mental restoring periods and extreme play conditions.

Players at the Month-Long Club World Cup in the United States reported to feel dizzy and unwell in the heat of games during the day to rely on the global TV audience.
The 63 game tournament supported by Saudi-Arabic money was lucrative for clubs, especially in Europe, although FIFA added it to the schedule without formal consulting players.
The tournament, FIFPRO said, was «celebrated by President Infantino, even though they were held under circumstances that were extreme and inappropriate for a person, with regard to a disturbing insensitivity to human rights, even when it concerns top athletes.
«FIFPRO again confirmed its non-rejecting dedication to protect the rights of men and female players rights that are seriously undermined by commercial policy imposed by its autocratic administrative system,» said the FIFA trade union established in the Netherlands.
«This is a model that endangers the health of players and putting aside in the heart of the game,» said FIFPRO, adding that it was «unacceptable for an organization that claims that worldwide leadership are kicking an eye for the basic needs of the players.»
FIFA was approached for comment.
FIFPRO has not had a formal work agreement with FIFA since the previous one in 2023 expired.
