The Premier League season of 2025-26 starts on Friday with defending champion Liverpool who takes on Bournemouth on Anfield.
With the arrival of the new season, millions of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will hunt for forward options for their teams.
Here are five budget -forward options to consider for the coming season:
Jorgen Strand Larsen (Wolves) – £ 6.5 million
In his first season in English football, the Wolven Vooruit recovered a slow start before he ended the campaign with a flowering, seting seven goals and two more sets in nine games. Despite only 1.88 shots per match, he scored 14 goals in 24 games, which proves his efficiency for the goal. For managers who hope to become a lot in midfield purchases, Strand Larsen is a good option in the forward role.
Joao Pedro (Chelsea) – £ 7.5 million
The new signing of Chelsea is a good option for £ 7.5 million. Pedro on average 4.7 points per match last season in Brighton and Hove Albion, where he collected 126 points in just 27 games. Pedro comes on the back of a star that is shown at the World Cup club last month, and will probably improve his statistics with the attacking support at Chelsea.
Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United) – £ 8m
Bowen has been moved from midfielder to an attacker this season and is available for only £ 8 million. Bowen had a strong finish to score six goals last season and to set up four more in just eight trips. He is also in shape in the preseason with two goals and so many assists. He is also the punishment of West Ham.
Jean -Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace) – £ 7.5 m
Mateta was one of the top 10 that scored ahead last season with 10 of his 14 goals in the second half of the year. He has had a highly lung in the season in five goals to go with his lonely assist. The Frenchman is also Palace’s penalty contractor.
Evanilson (Bournemouth) – £ 7m
Evanilson is a solid option for just £ 7 million. The Brazilian scored most of his goals in the second half of last season and ranked 10th for shots per 90 among attackers. With two goals and an assist in the preseason, Evanilson will be happy to go back to the new season.
Alternate Shout: Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) – £ 7.5 million
Chris Wood was one of the largest over -performing attackers from last season with 20 goals and three assists. But his shape was over in the second half of the season that coincided with Forest’s bad end of the season.
