Chelsea survived an early fear when Crystal Palace had a Ebereechi Eze-goal controversially allowed in a Scrappy 0-0 draw in the Premier League on Sunday.
Chelsea, whose last competitive outing won the Club World Cup last month, did not succeed in stamping in his authority on the match against the FA Cup holders in Warm Southwest London Sunshine.

The visitors seemed to have taken the lead in the 13th minute, but referee Darren England consulted the pitchside monitor and ruled Palace captain Marc Guehi, who pushed Moises Caicedo out of the way, was too close to the defensive wall of Chelsea when Eze took a free kick on the edge of the area.
Chelsea, which finished fourth last season and won the Conference League, started some of the recent youthful signing sessions, including Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, but it was the 18-year-old Brazilian replacement Estevao who made the most impact, with a lively version in the right wing.
Nottingham Forest Powers along the poor Brentford
Nottingham Forest stacked more misery on exhausted Brentford when the new winger than Ndoye scored his first goal for the club in Sunday’s 3-1 victory in the Premier League.
Keith Andrews, who took on his first management role in Brentford after Thomas Frank had left for Tottenham Hotspur, saw his team surpassed from the start when Chris Wood scored a first half of half that, together with the goal of Ndoye, forest gave a comfortable 3-0 lead in peace.
Brentford was unable to mount a comeback in the second half, with the goal of Igor Thiago from the penalty spot in the 78th minute as their only comfort.
Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has at least two signing sessions to integrate, because James McATee and Omari Hutchinson were unveiled before the game.
