Alexander Isak breaks silence on Newcastle Saga: ‘The relationship cannot continue’

Alexander Isak has become public for the first time about his dissatisfaction in Newcastle and says that the club has broken promises and that «the relationship cannot continue.»

The Sweden striker was the subject of a Liverpool bid during the low season and trained from the Newcastle team, after he indicated that he wanted to explore his options.

Isak was not involved in the Premier League opener of Newcastle on Saturday, a scoreless draw at Aston Villa.

On Tuesday, the 25-year-old Isak, who scored 27 goals in 42 games for the Magpies last season, appointed in the PFA team of the season for the Premier League and used a social media post that looked for his thanks to tackle his situation in Newcastle for the first time.

«I kept silent for a long time while others spoke,» Isak wrote. “That silence has enabled people to push their own version of events, although they know that it does not reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.

«The reality is that promises have been made and the club has known my position for a long time. To pretend that these problems are only on the rise, it is misleading. When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue.»

Isak ended his message by saying: «That is where things are now for me – and why a change in everyone’s best interest is, not only myself.»
