Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim was challenging in the light of growing criticism after his side was dismantled 3-0 by Crosstown Rival Manchester City in the Premier League Derby of Sunday in the Etihad Stadium.
The third loss of United in five games in all competitions left the 14th way in the Premier League.
Amorim has only had eight competition profits since he came to United last November, and after the game the Portuguese were asked if he should reconsider his tactical line -up. Maybe it’s just too easy to play against.
His reaction was candid, if not combative.
«Guys, I understand that and I accept, so it’s not a record that you should have in Manchester United,» he told reporters.
«There are many things that you have no idea what happened during these months, but I will accept that. But I will not change. If I want to change my philosophy, I will change. If not, then you have to change the men. And we will talk about that every game we lose. So I play my way, and I will play my way,» he added.

City was led by a clinical Erling Haaland, who struck twice, and a reviving Phil Foden, who scored in his first start of the season.
United had his moments. Bryan Mbeumo forced a world -class save from City’s new goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the second half. But United’s inability to convert opportunities and the defensive vulnerabilities were staring.
City fans taunt Amorim with hymns from «you are fired in the morning.»
After he made it clear that he would not leave his football philosophy, Amorim was asked what message that supporters are sending.
«My message is that I will give everything. I will do everything, always think about what is best for the club. That was always the same message,» he said.
«And then it’s not my decision, the rest. I really want to win games, so I suffer more than she,» he added.
With Chelsea on Saturday in Old Trafford and no European football to distract from the domestic misery, Amorim’s Resolve will be tested again – and soon.
