Villarreal -midfielder Thomas Partey was booed by Tottenham Hotspur -fans on his return to London for a Champions League match the evening before he had to be charged in court for rape.
The 32-year-old former Arsenal midfielder started only a few hours on the couch for a planned appearance in the Oude Bailey in London on Wednesday. In July he was accused of five counts of rape and one count of sexual violence.
Pedey came up as a replacement in the 78th minute. Spurs -fans immediately issued him and continued to do it when he became involved in playing. Tottenham won 1-0.

The alleged violations, which relate to three women, took place between 2021-22 when Pedey was an Arsenal player.
Partey received a bail in a court in London on 5 August. Villarreal drew him two days later.
The lawyer of Parey, Jenny Wiltshire, said earlier that he «denies all the charges against him» and that he «welcomed his name».
The police said the investigation was opened in February 2022 when it first received a report of rape.
