The Spanish police collision with Marseille fans for Real Madrid Champions League match; Palestinian flags forbidden

The Spanish police crashed with Olympique De Marseille fans prior to the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 match between the French club and Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The confrontation began when the fans waited to get to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium before the game.

Police in riot equipment and horse-riding officers used bates to spread the French supporters while apparently tried to go out the place that was assigned to them while waiting outside the Bernabeu ports. A few thousand French fans were expected before the game.

The situation was checked quickly and the fans arrived in the stadium before the competition.

Bernabeu protection staff did not allow fans to enter the stadium with Palestinian flags, forcing a policy that was still before Pro-Palestinian protests made the headlines for disturbing the Spanish Vuelta bike race this weekend. The flags were seized from fans who tried to come in with them.

The anti-Israel protests disturbed different phases of the three-week Vuelta.

Protesters, who demanded that Team Israel Premier Tech was driven out of the Grand Tour event, threw barriers on the road and collided with the police on Sunday to prevent the final phase from being completed as originally planned.
