Malaysian players prohibited after using forged documents to play Asian Cup qualifying match against Vietnam


Facundo Garces from Deportivo Alaves was one of the seven players who had been banned by FIFA for a year on Friday after the football management body discovered that discussion documentation had been used so that they could play in an Asian cup wagons for Malaysia against Vietnam.

The disciplinary committee of Fifa said that the seven players – Garces, Gabriel Arrocha (Salamanca Unionists), Rodrigo Holdado (America de Cali), Imanol Machuca (Velez Sarsfield), Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal and Hector of Hector) football activities.

FIFA said that the FAM had submitted eligible questions to the Global Football administrative body and Doctored Documentation to be able to set up the seven players, in which Article 22 of the FIFA disciplinary code that deals with falsification and falsification.

In the third round of the Asian Cup qualifications of Malaysia, all seven players had played a 4-0 win over Vietnam on 10 June, after which FIFA received a complaint about the suitability of different players.

Figueiredo and Holgado were both scored in the victory of Malaysia. Garces played this season in every game for Alaves, who is 10th in La Liga.

FIFA also ordered the FAM to pay a fine of 350,000 Swiss francs ($ 438,651), while the players each received 2,000 Swiss francs.

«Furthermore, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has referred the issue of players to play for the representative team of Malaysia to the FIFA football stand for consideration,» added FIFA.

The decision can be made on appeal for the FIFA Appeals Committee.
