Yosemite – Hello and goodbye!

Kennedy North al Gigantesque September 20-25

This section covers Yosemite National Park and Ansel Adams desert. So, as you could imagine, my photos are beautiful. The weather improved and I was very lucky on mountain passes.

Hiking in autumn means that poplars are changing color

Tuolumne falls into Yosemite: the image does not do justice. In addition, not so many people can say they immerse themselves here. It is good not to have so many people around …

A dramatic difference in southern direction is the lack of people. In addition, everything is closed. I camped in Glen Aulin in Yosemite, and that was most of the tents I’ve seen in several days (six). Most of the time I am alone camping. The Tuolumne Meadows store was closed and Red’s Meadow was also closed, so it obtained food to replenish It has been a great challenge. For those who may need to do this in the future, I walked approximately 4 miles through Mammoth Pass Trail to Horseshoe Lake. Then I could take a ferry in the city of Mammoth.

Hunger has no pride

Have you ever had to beg for food? The amount of food would need badly for this stretch. I think it was the strong escalation in addition to the long days and simply did not have enough calories. Two days later, I looked at my snacks and realized that I wasn’t going to do another four days. I had enough dinners and breakfasts, but not enough calories during the day.

The Tuolumne store was closed, so it was not an option. When I started rationing my snacks, I went cheeked crazy. Enough to ask for food from hikers who seemed to finish their trip. In the Tuolumne parking lot, I was able to obtain two granola bars from a very pleasant couple and two more from Orchid, a partner through Haker.

I am usually shy when I approach strangers, but in this case, I overcome it, urged by my stomach. People are so pleasant!

MY Honey

A cup for stool samples provides an ideal way of transporting honey.

Many who know me know that my husband keeps bees in our backyard. 6 gallons of honey was harvested this year, and asked him to send me some. He arrived in a fecal cup (the laboratory sends them to me in 50 packages and simply I don’t have enough patients with races)! It is leak -proof, and the small spoon inside is frankly perfect to deliver microdosis while climbing mountains.

Ear worker war

When I do not listen to music or reserve on tape, I usually have an internal soundtrack. As most of you know with the worms of the ears, you cannot always choose which song you hear in your head. The most recent ear worm that has been tormenting me during the last three days is superficial with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I think this is the most silly song and it is only good because Lady Gaga simply regrets her. But for some reason, the tempo of the song coincides perfectly with the rhythm of my steps and I cannot get it out of my head.

I have tried to change to a different song, but nothing has been taken. It has to be a song that I know well. I tried your Elton John song, also Tiffany (I think we are alone now). Several songs by Madonna provide a short period of relief, but within an hour, I listen to Shalla la La La Low. Puaj. It is like two brothers who fight why see on television and changing the round trip station.

Finally, I get it and put myself in the headphones.

A relief: by whim, I downloaded the PCT 2025 playlist! Out of Spotify and the winning replacement song is …

Hooked to a sensation (Swedish blue)

I can walk to the rhythm of ooga-chaka all day!

Approaching Mamut

Thanks to my food begging, I could make the last push in the gigantic lakes. I stayed at the Reds Meadow camp, which was closed for the season, so there was no one around. Which means that I had the Hot Spring All for me.

Divine – A Hot Spring

Immediately after entering the city, do I guess what I did? Of course I ate!

If someone wonders, the heating cabin made the best gluten -free banana pancakes I have had.

Both plates were for me and ate them completely at once.

Next stop: Kearsarge Pass
