Manish, Vaishanvi Emerge Champions on Fenesta National Tennis Championship
Manish Sureshkumar and Vaishnavi Adkar were authoritative as champions in the Fenesta National Tennis Championship on the DLTA complex on Saturday.
Manish defeated fellow trainee from coach Sureshkumar Sonachalam from Chennai, qualifying match Keersivassan Suresh, 6-4, 6-2 for the title of the men. It was a lively match in which both players exhibited their repertoire from the Achterhof with energetic blows, although they were both tired after the heavy passage to the final.
«I am very happy to win this second national title. Coming in the tournament, I had no expectations because I was not happy with my game. It is not at the same level that it used to be. I did not play so well at first. I listened after beating Nitin Kumar Sinha in the quarterfinals. This title gave me confidence.
Just like another Tamil Nadu boy, Rethin Pranav, who had gone to the title of the men after he had made the main drawing last year as a happy loser, Kerthivassan threatened to hit it big, but fell marginal, despite a brave effort. He won everyone’s admiration for packing such a lively game in a wire -like frame. He fell RS. 200,000 as a second prize.
The prize money was the same for the women’s champions and second place, while Vaishnavi her colleague Maharashtra teammate, Akanksha, defeated 6-1, 6-2 with considerable ease, despite the fact that she dropped her serve twice.
«Until the last minute I was not sure about participating in this tournament because of the knee injury. I am happy to be the national champion. It feels surreal,» said Vaishnavi, even as she congratulated the DCM Shriram Group and thanked for keeping the event for more than 30 years.
In the junior boys’ final, Tavish Pahwa recovered from 0-3 to take the first set in the Tie-Break, before Hruthik Katakam retired in the second set.
Harshini Nagaraj played a steady game to beat the strongly built Snigdha Kanta in three sets for the title of the girls.
London Games Medalwinner Yogeshwar Dutt was the most important guest and presented the trophies together with the chairman and director of DCM Shriram, Ajay Shriram, the Davis Cup captain Rohit Rajpal, business head of Fenesta, Saket Jain, Saket Singh and Gupta.

Yodha’s Win Shoot on Knights to register the first APL victory
Prithviraj Yodhas achieved the inaugural edition of the Archery Premier League (APL) with a victory over Kakatiya Knights in the Yamuna Sports Complex here on Saturday. With the score with 4-4 at the end of the fourth set, the outcome was determined by a shoot-off for the first time in this competition.
Yodha’s started the game in a strong tone, which maintained the steadily goal and calmness under pressure. Their consistent score helped them to win the first set 73-72. Abhishek Verma showed sharp shooting skills and excellent control to guide his team in an early advantage.
However, the knights quickly regrouped themselves in the second set. Kakatiya’s Jignas fired two perfect 10s in his first two attempts to give the team an ideal start. On the other hand, Verma corresponded to the intensity with a 10 in his opening shot, where the competition kept the neck and neck. It was Jyoti Surekha who then played a crucial role for the Knights with back-to-back 10s.
While the pendulum waved to and out in the next two sets, Yodhas ruled in the shoot-off.

Bhullar remains on track for the success of Jakarta
The Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar bought a 69-under 69 to take part of the three-way lead with Wade Ormsby (67) from Australia and Scott Vincent (62) from Zimbabwe, in the last round of the Jakarta International Championship.
Bhullar, a five -fold winner in Indonesia, was left to strengthen a precious mistake on the ninth hole, when he double bogeyed the gap despite the center of the fairway after another perfect ride.

Sharma shoots par in the second round after 68 in the first
India’s Shubhankar Sharma shot an even par 72 on the second day in St. Andrews and was 4-four under par after two rounds on the Alfred Dunhill left Championship. He was placed 56th.
A strong third round at the Carnoustie golf stores could see him break his series of missed cuts.
Sharma played in 2018 during the 147th Open Championship and finished the week on T-51.

Veteran Delhi football manager NK Bhatia Dead
Delhi’s experienced football manager NK Bhatia died after a long -term illness.
Bhatia suffered from age -related complications and was admitted to the intensive care of a city hospital.
Bhatia, who was vice-president of Football Delhi, has worked tirelessly to improve sport in the national capital and has held the position of the secretary of the former Delhi Soccer Association (DSA), which often represents the body in the National Federation meetings.
He has held various positions in the regular committees of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Raivat Dhar wins race 1 of round 4 in Honda India Talent Cup
Raivat Dhar produced a commander to achieve racing 1 of round 4 in the 2025 Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup CB300F at the Madras International Circuit on Saturday.
From the front, Dhar led in the six -round competition and clocked 12: 37.237, with his fastest round Timed on 2: 04.663.
Solomon R finished second after a closed battle with Tejash Ba, and completed the race in 12: 38.041 (fastest round 2: 04.824). Tejash took a third place with a timing of 12: 38,331.
