‘Afraid of no one’: Dutch unfazed by potential knockout opponents of the 2026 FIFA World Cup

The Netherlands are unconcerned about potential opponents in the knockout stages as they prepare to take on already-eliminated Tunisia in the final World Cup group match, with coach Ronald Koeman insisting his side are focused on topping the group.

“For me it’s all the same,” Koeman told reporters on Wednesday, when asked if there were any teams he would rather avoid.

«We want to go very far in this tournament. We respect all our opponents, whoever they are, and we are not afraid of anyone. Because we believe that we are a strong team,» the coach added.

“We think the best way to approach this is to take this one match at a time and just be ready to beat whoever you face,” Koeman said.

The Dutch, who started with a 2-2 draw against Japan before beating Sweden 5-1, are level with Japan on four points and lead the group in terms of goals scored.

Sweden is third with three points, while Tunisia has already been eliminated after heavy defeats against Sweden and Japan.

The Netherlands and Tunisia face each other in Kansas City on Thursday.
