AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri said on Saturday he is not interested in taking the vacant job in Italy, adding that he plans to continue with the seven-time European champions.
Allegri, along with Napoli coach Antonio Conte, had been linked as a potential replacement for Gennaro Gattuso, who resigned earlier this month after Italy failed to qualify for a third successive World Cup.
«My career speaks for itself. Changing jobs is often not part of my DNA,» Allegri told reporters ahead of Sunday’s Serie A match against Verona.
The 58-year-old first coached Milan between 2010 and 2014 before moving to Juventus, where he enjoyed five years of success. He returned to the Turin club in 2021 after a coaching break and was sacked three years later.

“I like working in a club that is managed like a business and should be managed like one,” said Allegri. «I like to work and see progress. We cannot win the Champions League in two years, but you have to have that ambition, because if you don’t think about the future, you will be stuck in the past.»
«We are in constant contact. I have given my suggestions for summer transfers and the club’s management will work on them.»
Allegri took charge of Milan last summer and has put the side in third place in Serie A, on course for Champions League qualification.
Milan are five points ahead of fifth-placed Como but have lost three of their last four games.
