Defending champions Argentina will take on Cape Verde in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The match was confirmed after Cape Verde drew for the third time in a row to secure second place in Group H. The 2026 edition will be Cape Verde’s first-ever World Cup appearance in its seventh qualifying attempt.
Argentina had previously won Group J after winning their first two matches, against Algeria and Austria. The South American team will play against Jordan in the last group match on Saturday.

The Round of 32 between Argentina and Cape Verde will be played on July 3 at 6:00 PM (3:30 AM IST on July 4).
The match will be played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the city where Argentine talisman Lionel Messi currently plays his club football.
