Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios will miss the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League semi-final against Arsenal after his club said on Sunday he suffered a thigh injury.
“Barrios has suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh, which occurred during the match against Athletic Bilbao last Saturday,” Atletico said in a statement, without specifying how long he is expected to miss.
Barrios has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, recording one goal and three assists in that period.

Spanish media reported that the injury will keep the 22-year-old out for a month, a blow to Diego Simeone’s side ahead of Wednesday’s first leg against Arsenal at the Metropolitano Stadium.
After last weekend’s Copa del Rey final defeat, the Champions League represents Atletico’s last hope for success this season.
