If the early bird gets the worm, I got the worm this morning! Wait, that sounds gross. Maybe not.
Anyway…
This morning I woke up first out of everyone at the hostel and honestly, I didn’t get up that early. It was cold with the window open in our room so I took out my quilt around 5:30, then around 7 I had to pee so I went ahead and got up. My next stop after swimming? Coffee. I ended up having two cups of coffee, a cup of tea, a PB&J, a bunch of cherries, a banana, and two soft-boiled eggs. The free breakfast was an amazing benefit of the ITH hostel!
After I finished my breakfast, the others slowly began to go out and eat their own meals. I started packing and finished loading everything I still needed. Boostie, Coyote and I ran to the fishing tackle store to see what gear they had available. I bought a new gas canister, Boostie bought a dehydrated meal, and Coyote bought some electrolytes.
Late
We finally caught the free bus that would take us to Vons to resupply. Luckily, Vons is right next to the Dollar Tree. That meant most of our resupply was super affordable! For four days of food I spent $30. Not bad!

Gandalf picked us up to take us back to the trailhead after resupplying us. The terrain at night was quite cold, but I had consumed a huge chicken sandwich just before the hike. My stomach felt horrible! Even the slight uphill climb was enough to take my breath away. The thought of eating the other half of my sandwich made me feel sick.
When we got to camp, I ended up doing a trade with Marathon. My sandwich, for a bag of Nerds Gummy Clusters. He felt bad for being on the better side of the deal, but really, I know I’ll enjoy those sweets tomorrow. The sandwich had to be eaten tonight, so I’ll take it!
