Rawhide and his puppies were supposed to meet at Denny’s around 8am, so Boostie and I headed there shortly after. Most of our trams have a reputation for being late, so we thought getting there at 8:15 would avoid arriving too early. Well, 8:30, 8:45, suddenly it’s 9 and no one has shown up. Apparently, no one was on the same page. Some ended up having breakfast at the hotel, others ate at Kelcy’s, and we were the only ones who ate at Denny’s. Honestly? It’s worth it. The calories alone were a good reason to eat there!
Rawhide and Frodo finally met up with the group this morning and said they would eventually meet us at Starbucks. Boostie and I had coffee and I worked on posts and blogs until our friends arrived. We all hung out for a bit before heading to his hotel room to hang out some more. The four of us swam in the pool, which was a little cold since it was inside, but we dried off outside and it was wonderful.
Enjoying the pool!
My relatives picked us up from the hotel around 3 pm and took us to a late lunch. We ate at Thai Hachapi and I had pineapple fried rice and Thai tea. The Thai tea hit the spot. I had been craving some all week while walking!
After Thai, we also stopped at the 4 Seasons Cafe for some boba tea… I can’t help but drink a good amount of tea in the city! I bought brown sugar milk tea with tapioca boba and loved it. After that we left the city and returned to my relatives’ house. Our evening consisted of chatting with my family and doing our usual chores on the trail.

Boostie and I cleaned the dishes, I sewed a hole in my pants and treated all my clothes with permethrin. I treated them before the tour, but since it’s been almost 40 days, it’s time to retire. I slacked off on the AT and only treated my gear twice in the six months of travel. Out here, I’m trying to stay on top of things. Everyone here has been eaten by mosquitoes, but not me. Personally, I’d rather soak everything I own in bug spray than have my body covered in miserable, itchy bites.
