Chennaiyin FC to suspend first team activities due to uncertainty about ISL


Two -time Indian Super League (ISL) champion Chennaiyin FC will suspend the activities for the first team players and the staff due to the growing uncertainty about the future of the competition, Sports star has learned.

This development comes on the back of Bengaluru FC that freezes salaries for his first team on Monday with various clubs in a state of Limbo about their fate.

There is also doubts about whether the club could fulfill its contractual obligations towards the players and the staff.

It is learned that the Bachchan-Vita Dani-Club Abhishek paid the salaries of the first team in June, but could not do this in July without inflow into cash, where the ISL was put on hold by the organizer of the Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) competition.

The club had already suspended its youth team activities.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will meet the CEO of all ISL clubs on 7 August to discuss the way ahead for the new season.

Chennaiyin was not from the first eight clubs invited before the AIFF, also reached to CFC, Mumbai City FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC and Mohammedan SC.
