Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in six FIFA World Cup editions after scoring for Portugal in their Group K match against Uzbekistan in Houston on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old opened the scoring in the sixth minute and has scored a goal in all tournament editions since his first goal in 2006.
Before the meeting, Ronaldo was tied with Lionel Messi, who had scored in five editions (2006, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2026).
Portugal is in group K together with Uzbekistan, DR Congo and Colombia. Roberto Martinez’s team started the tournament with a boring 1-1 draw against DR Congo.
