Cristiano Ronaldo became the oldest outfield player in FIFA World Cup history when he started for Portugal against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He broke the record set by former Canadian captain Atiba Hutchinson, who had started The Canucks’ opening match at the 2022 World Cup against Belgium took the field at the age of 39 years and 296 days.
