Cristiano Ronaldo scores his 100th goal in the Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th Saudi Pro League goal on Thursday as Al-Nassr defeated Al-Shabab 4-2 to move five points clear at the top of the table.

The 41-year-old forward converted Sadio Mané’s cross at the near post with 15 minutes to go, scoring the 971st goal of his career. It was also his 26th league goal of the season.

“Ronaldo is always dangerous in the future and we saw that again today,” said Al-Nassr coach Jorge Jesus.

João Félix, acquired from Chelsea in July, scored three goals for the league leaders.

The victory took Al-Nassr to 82 points from 32 matches, five ahead of Al-Hilal, who have three matches left to play, one more than Nassr. Al-Hilal meet Al-Kholood on Friday and face Nassr on Tuesday in what could be a title decider against its rival from Riyadh.

“Now we have a derby match against our rival, which is a difficult encounter,” Jesus said. “We are fully aware of its importance and deal with it with full focus, because we know that small details can determine the outcome.”

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo has yet to secure a major trophy in Saudi Arabia since signing for Al-Nassr in December 2022.
