DR Congo squad for FIFA World Cup 2026: Wan Bissaka, including Wissa


DR Congo has announced its squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup starting June 11 in the US, Canada and Mexico.

The country has been drawn into Group F, alongside Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia, and will start its campaign against Portugal in Houston on June 17.

The squad, led by coach Sebastien Desabre, will be captained by former Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba and consists of prominent names including West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Newcastle striker Yoan Wissa and Real Betis striker Cedric Bakambu.

2026 will mark the first time the No. 46 has participated in the FIFA World Cup as DR Congo, although it participated as Zaire in the 1974 edition of the tournament.
