Harry Kane scored twice in the second half to help England stage a comeback and beat DR Congo 2-1 in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 match in Atlanta on Wednesday.
DR Congo took the lead in the seventh minute thanks to Brian Cipenga’s low strike into the bottom corner from the left side of the penalty area.
The Africans held their lead for 74 minutes and might have been dreaming of an unlikely victory until Kane turned the match on its head.
He first struck from a header from Anthony Gordon’s cross and just twelve minutes later he fired a rocket into the roof of the net from the right side of the penalty area.
England will face Mexico in the next round of 16.
