Declan Rice, Marc Guehi and Reece James did not train with the rest of the England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday and instead followed individual programmes, the team said.
England will play Norway in the quarter-finals in Miami on Saturday.
James has already missed three matches at the tournament due to a hamstring injury suffered during England’s 0-0 group stage draw with Ghana on June 23.

Rice has been battling a neural problem which affected his hamstrings and lower back towards the end of Arsenal’s Premier League season. The midfielder was rested after England’s 2-0 win over Panama in the group stage.
England defender Jarell Quansah is already set to miss Saturday’s match against Norway after being sent off during England’s dramatic 3-2 last-16 win over Mexico at the Azteca Stadium on Sunday.
Rice, Guehi, Jude Bellingham and Nico O’Reilly are all also walking a tightrope with yellow cards, with a new booking automatically ruling them out of a possible semi-final against Argentina or Switzerland.
