France and Norway confirmed their passage to the 32nd round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Monday with impressive wins in Group I.
France had to survive a 130-minute rain delay during their 3-0 win over Iraq in Philadelphia. Later in the day, Erling Haaland found the net twice as Norway beat Senegal 3-2.
With two spots decided, Senegal and Iraq will be involved in a direct shootout to finish in third place. With their respective goal differences taking a big hit in the two matches, both will have to aim for a big win to qualify in third place.
France and Norway will also have something to fight for, with the winner of their game having a relatively easier opponent in the next round.
