The The team now has six points from two games, after a 7-1 victory in the opening match against Curaçao.

Has Germany qualified for Round of 32?

The victory sealed Germany’s passage to the knockouts. It became the third team after co-hosts Mexico and the US to reach the next round.

The qualification ends the four-time champion’s 12-year wait for the World Cup knockouts after being eliminated in the group stages in the previous two editions.

The country faces Ecuador in the final round and a win would secure the country first place. If the rest of the results go their way, Germany could even top Group E with a draw against Ecuador.

If Ecuador beats Curacao and then also beats Germany, the two teams can gain six points and Germany will finish second in its group, giving it a slightly tougher path ahead in the tournament.
