FIFA World Cup 2026: Man dies outside Estadio Azteca during Mexico-South Africa opener

As the noise remains high at the Estadio Azteca with Mexico leading at half-time, a grim incident was reported from outside the stadium.

A man, believed to be 80 years old, died after collapsing near Gate 11. Images circulating on social media showed paramedics responding to the emergency and attempting to resuscitate him before he was transferred into an ambulance.

There was no immediate official statement from organizers or local authorities on the incident.
