Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo each found the net twice as the Netherlands recorded their first win of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, beating Sweden 5-1 in their Group F match in Houston on Saturday.
Brobbey scored twice in the first half, while Gakpo attacks fell apart seven minutes into the second half as the Dutch asserted their style much better than against Japan in the opening round.
Swedish substitute Anthony Elanga found the consolation goal in the 59th minute, but that could not inspire the Swedish team to get back into the match.
Crysencio Summerville ended the night with a late goal to take his tally to two goals from two games.
