Endrick scored the winner on Saturday as Brazil defeated Egypt 2-1 in the final pre-tournament friendly match at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.
In a match marked by early defensive errors, Brazil struck first through Bruno Guimaraes in the seventh minute after Egypt took too much time on the ball at the back. The Newcastle United midfielder took advantage of the mistake to give Brazil the lead from the penalty area.
However, Egypt responded almost immediately. A misplaced back pass from Marquinhos allowed Mostafa Zico to get to the ball first and beat Alisson Becker in the 11th minute, bringing the African side level and taking the match ahead after Brazil’s good start.
Brazil continued to threaten through Vinicius Junior and Raphinha, with the former repeatedly finding space on the left. Raphinha also had his moments on the right, while Igor Thiago was denied by Egyptian goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir after being played through by Guimaraes.
The Egyptian backline provided pressure throughout the first half, often delaying passes from the back and allowing Brazilian attackers to close down the line. But Shobeir kept his side in the match with a series of important saves, including one from Vinicius after a quick counter-attack from Brazil.

Carlo Ancelotti made changes after the break, with Salah also coming on for Egypt at half-time. Brazil regained the lead in the 52nd minute when Endrick met Raphinha’s pass in the center of the penalty area and finished with his left foot.
Brazil looked more confident after the goal, but Egypt did not fade. It found space, especially on the left, and had moments through Zico and Salah in the closing stages. Weverton, who came on at half-time, was called into action and pushed away a dangerous ball from Zico that almost turned into a shot.
Egypt dominated the closing stages but lacked precision in the final third. Brazil held on for victory without Neymar, who is recovering from a calf injury, and will open their World Cup campaign against Morocco next week.
