FIFA World Cup 2026 – Why is the logo outside the stadium covered ahead of Qatar vs Switzerland?

The logo outside the stadium for the 2026 Qatar-Switzerland FIFA World Cup match in San Francisco has been posted ahead of the tournament.

The stadium is commonly known as Levi’s Stadium, named after the iconic denim brand and generally home to the San Francisco 49ers, but for the duration of the FIFA World Cup it will be known as the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.

The Levi’s logo, which hangs outside the stadium, is also covered with a cloth.

This is because FIFA effectively takes control of the stadium during the World Cup and removes any signage that conflicts with its own commercial agreements.

As a result, the iconic Levi’s logo has remained hidden throughout the tournament.
