Two-time champions France have announced their 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which starts on June 11 in the US, Mexico and Canada.
Didier Deschamps, who will step down from his role as French head coach after this World Cup, has not produced any surprises with his choices.
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe is likely to captain the team that features current Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembele.
The team has a lot of experience and also has previous World Cup winners with Mbappé, Dembélé, N’Golo Kante and Lucas Hernandez.
Antoine Griezmann, who retired from the national team after the 2024 European Championship, will not reverse his decision to remain in the squad.
France is in Group I with Senegal, Iraq and Norway and will start its campaign against Senegal on June 16.
