The Group I match between France and Iraq had no hydration break in the second half of their 2026 FIFA World Cup match in Philadelphia on Monday.
It was the first time during this World Cup that the hydration break – in both halves – did not take place.
The absence of the hydration break was attributed to a major delay in the match at halftime due to adverse weather conditions.
The first half between France and Iraq ended amid heavy rain showers pouring over the Lincoln Financial Field, and bad weather, including thunderstorms, caused a delay of more than an hour and forty minutes before the match resumed.
