Hello NJ Views – Fox AT Thru Hike – Day 77

Leaving Delaware Water Gap, I crossed the bridge with the iconic PA/NJ marker. What I didn’t do was take a photo. I tend to drop my phone, so I’m very reluctant to take it out on bridges. Combined with my slight fear of heights, photographs on large bridges are difficult. Yes, I have acrophobia and I’m doing the AT.

Unfortunately, the church scale doesn’t go to zero, so I’m not sure where I am in weight. But all I can do is keep eating, so I stopped at the Mohican Outdoor Center. The handmade ice cream sandwich was a good buy. Secondhand, I have heard that other foods may be less value for your money.

After downtown, there were many views and many people enjoying them. A lady on a day hike asked me to take her photo because her “sister will never believe” she is here. His enthusiasm was contagious. Seeing their joy at a new experience helped me renew mine after hundreds of miles.

As I stop at the Brink Shelter and reflect, I have a lot to be grateful for today. The views were excellent. Water tanks were frequent and full. Somehow the mosquitoes haven’t come out yet. I’m done with PA. It really has been a great day.
