Over the years, Unai Emery has become a name synonymous with the Europa League. The Spaniard added another title to his trophy cabinet as he guided Aston Villa to victory in Turkey on Wednesday.
Playing against German side Freiburg, Villa scored twice in the first half and once after the restart to secure the Europa League crown at Istanbul’s Tüpraş Stadium.
But beyond the team’s success, the result restored Emery’s dominance in the competition.

Unai Emery has won the Europa League five times, making him the most successful manager in the competition. His purple patch was in his home country, with Seville, with which he lifted the trophy three times.
