India slumped to a 0-5 defeat against Australia to register their second straight defeat in the 2026 AFC Under-20 Women’s Asian Cup in Thailand on Sunday.
Skye Halmarick scored a hat-trick, with Danella Butrus and Daisy Brown scoring one goal each to send the Young Matildas to the quarter-finals. This was Australia’s second win in a row after beating Chinese Taipei 5-0 in the tournament opener.
Joakim Alexandersson and his Indian team remain bottom of Group C with yet another heavy defeat. The country will face Taipei in the final group stage on April 8.
