Only one match remains. One match for the Indian U17 men’s team to fulfill its dream of becoming the first in the country to qualify for a World Cup.
For Bibiano Fernandes, head coach of the India U17 men’s national team, it has always been a dream to see India play on merit in a World Cup.
“We were close in 2018, but I felt that on all previous occasions we had the opportunity to go all the way,” said Fernandes. “This is something that is close to all of our hearts, and we brought the same energy to all the boys. I feel like the group as a whole is completely focused on doing everything possible to achieve our ultimate goal.”
Fernandes recalled the India U17 team’s other preparatory matches against other teams such as Türkiye and Republic of Korea and believes the boys are well-equipped to take on such challenges.
