Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Jamie Overton has suffered a thigh injury and has returned to the United Kingdom for further assessment and management, the franchise announced on social media on Wednesday evening.
It’s been an injury-riddled season for the Super Kings, and the Englishman has become the latest casualty.
The social media post did not mention how long the 32-year-old will be out of action, and it remains to be seen whether Overton can recover and return in time for CSK’s next match against Lucknow Super Giants on Friday.
It is a major blow for CSK as Overton has been one of the side’s standout players this season, impressing with both bat and ball.
