Kerala Blasters will have to do without Matias Hernandez in the home match against Jamshedpur FC on Saturday.
The decision follows a 34-minute off-ball incident in which the Spanish midfielder was involved in a physical altercation with Bengaluru FC’s Brian Sanchez. Referee Pratik Mondal showed a red card after Sánchez appeared to take a swipe at Hernandez.
On Saturday, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) reviewed the incident and handed Hernandez a one-match ban, ruling him out of the match against Jamshedpur.
On Thursday, Sánchez’s red card was downgraded to yellow.
Kerala Blasters are currently 13th in the table with five points.
