After that morale-boosting win in Bengaluru, Kerala Blasters were just two minutes off normal time from another win, which would have been their first home win this season. But that was not to be as NorthEast United struck in the final minutes to make it 1-1.
It was a lively match where the two teams, who were struggling in the Indian Super League, fought bitterly and created many chances but converted only two of them into goals. And one of them was an own goal.
NorthEast’s Andy Rodriguez was credited with that goal, putting the hosts ahead with just four minutes left in the first half. However, Fallou Ndiaye played the key role in scoring that goal.

After a free kick, Karim Benarif burst into the penalty area and found Ndiaye, who first came up with a header and then an overhead kick. And the ball went to Parthib Gogoi and then to the hapless Rodriguez.
The Blasters continued to press hard and even came close to increasing the lead, but never succeeded. However, it looked like they would claim another three points until substitute Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia struck from the death for the visiting side.
The Blasters’ goalkeeper Arsh Shaikh had left his post but failed to clear the danger from Robin Yadav, another substitute. Lalbiaknia ensured that the rebound would be the equalizer.
NorthEast now has seven points and Blasters five.
