A late winner from Erling Haaland helped Norway beat Ivory Coast 2-1 in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Dallas Stadium in Texas on Tuesday.
Antonio Nusa opened the scoring for the Norwegians in the first half with a stunning curling strike. Although Amad Diallo equalized for the Ivorians after half-time, Haaland’s late tap-in ensured his team safely progressed to the pre-quarter-finals.
It will be Norway’s third appearance in the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup, following those in 1998 (its previous appearance in the tournament) and in 1938.
