Bosnian footballer Samir Zeljković signed a two-year contract with Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Thursday. The midfielder impressed with his performances for Punjab FC in the recently concluded Indian Super League season.
Samir is primarily a central defensive midfielder, but can also play as a central defender. One of the main reasons behind Mohun Bagan SG’s decision to sign him is his ability to perform effectively in both positions. The 28-year-old, who stands at 6ft 6in, is also adept at making forward runs and contributing to the attack.

Wherever he has played, be it in the Bosnian Premier League or the Uzbek League, Samir has consistently contributed with goals and assists. In the 2025-2026 season, he scored two goals and provided three assists.
After signing a two-year contract with MBSG, Zeljković said: “Since I arrived in India, I have heard about the continued success of Mohun Bagan SG. Playing against them in the ISL at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, I witnessed the passion and love that the club’s members and supporters have for the team.
«I am very happy and honored to have the opportunity to play for such a historic club with more than a century of tradition. The green and maroon supporters have already seen me play. Mohun Bagan is the best club in the country, and I promise to do even better together with my new teammates in this successful team. I come to Calcutta with the mentality of becoming a champion. Not just the ISL, I want to win every possible trophy.»
