The PCT shuttle service is a great deal. For $75 a head, the shuttle picked up a group of us at the train station in downtown San Diego, and an hour and a half later took us to the Camp Lockett Event and Equestrian Facility (CLEEF). Sure you can get there cheaper, but then you would miss out on the bonding experience of starting out with other hikers.
