Premier League 2025-26: Bournemouth leave Jimenez out of squad and will investigate social media posts

Bournemouth dropped Alex Jimenez from their squad for Saturday’s Premier League match against Fulham after the club said on Friday they were investigating social media posts.

The club said they were aware of social media posts involving Jimenez, but did not elaborate further on the matter.

“The club understands the seriousness of the matter and it is currently under investigation,” the club said in a statement.

“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League match against Fulham and the club will have no further comment at this time.”

Reuters has attempted to contact Jimenez for comment through his representatives.

Jimenez, who was initially loaned from AC Milan and signed permanently in February, has made 31 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth this season.

Bournemouth, which is sixth in the standings, is doing everything they can to qualify for European competition next season. They are six points behind fifth-placed Aston Villa with three games remaining.
