Premier League: Liverpool sign Spanish World Cup striker Munoz from Osasuna

Liverpool have signed Spanish striker Victor Munoz on a long-term contract from Osasuna, the Premier League club announced on Thursday. This was the first arrival since Andoni Iraola took over as coach earlier this month.

According to media reports, Liverpool have paid 40 million euros ($45.85 million) to trigger Munoz’s release clause and signed the 22-year-old on a six-year contract.

He is currently playing in the World Cup and completed his medical at Spain’s training base in Tennessee, where he signed the contract, Liverpool said in a statement.

«Munoz is the second addition to the Reds’ playing squad ahead of the 2026-27 season, after a deal was agreed to acquire Jeremy Jacquet earlier this year,» Liverpool said.

Munoz, a former Real Madrid player, scored six goals in 34 La Liga games for Osasuna last season.

He made his international debut in March, scoring against Serbia in a friendly match.

Spain, who drew 1-1 with Cape Verde in its first World Cup match in Group H, will face Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
