The 2025-2026 Premier League season is nearing its business end, with much to fight for both at the top and bottom of the table.
With three rounds to go, the battle for the championship and the last relegation spot is still active and will go to the extreme.
West Ham United currently occupy 18th place with 36 points, but are just one point behind struggling Tottenham Hotspur. Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Leeds United can also mathematically still be relegated, despite currently being at least six points clear of the relegation zone.
Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers have already been relegated from the top division.
Here’s how every Premier League club battling relegation can avoid a drop back to the Championship:
Westham United
A demoralizing 0-3 defeat to Brentford ended West Ham United’s four-match unbeaten run in the top flight under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The team still has three games to go to avoid a possible drop to the second level for the first time since 2010/2011. But the route is not easy. The Hammers take on Arsenal at home, Newcastle United away, and end their season with a match against Leeds United at home.

Nine points from three games do not guarantee safety. The London-based club will also need Spurs to drop points in one of the remaining encounters to move top in the table. Alternatively, a string of losses to Leeds, Palace or Forest will also be enough for the Hammers.
Tottenham Hotspur
Unlike West Ham, Spurs have their future in the Premier League in their own hands. Back-to-back wins over Wolves and Aston Villa stopped a 15-match winless run for the defending Europa League champions.
Roberto de Zerbi’s team can avoid relegation for the first time since 1976/77 if they win all remaining meetings in the competition. Spurs will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea between two home games against Leeds and Everton. If the team drops points in the three-match series, they will have to hope that West Ham does the same.
Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Leeds United can confirm their places in next season’s Premier League with a solitary win in their next three games.
