Ronaldo becomes the second-oldest goalscorer in the history of the World Cup after a goal against Uzbekistan


Cristiano Ronaldo became the second-oldest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history on Tuesday after his goal in the Group K match between Portugal and Uzbekistan in Houston.

At 41 years and 138 days, Ronaldo is behind Cameroonian legend Roger Milla, who was 42 years and 39 days old when he scored at the 1994 World Cup.

Ronaldo’s former Portugal and Real Madrid teammate Pepe is the third oldest at 39 years and 283 days.

Portugal is in group K together with Uzbekistan, DR Congo and Colombia. Roberto Martinez’s team started the tournament with a boring 1-1 draw against DR Congo.
