Schick and Soucek lead the 26-man Czech squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup


Striker Patrik Schick and captain Ladislav Krejci lead a 26-man Czech squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which was announced in Prague on Sunday.

The Czech Republic will face Mexico, South Africa and South Korea in Group A, in only its second World Cup appearance. The first came during the 2006 edition in Germany.

The Czechs secured their place at the World Cup after beating both Ireland and Denmark on penalties in the March play-offs.

Koubek called up 17-year-old Sparta Prague midfielder Hugo Sochurek and three other players who were making their national team debuts against Kosovo.

Hoffenheim winger Adam Hlozek, who scored the match-winner against Kosovo, is returning from injuries that limited him to just 37 minutes in the Bundesliga last season.
