The ten-man team secured a place in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
Folarin Balogun opened the scoring late in the first half after a stroke of luck brought the ball into the penalty area before sending it past the opposition goalkeeper.
However, his afternoon ended on a sour note after he was sent off in the 64th minute for a dangerous challenge on Tarik Muharemovic.
But USA managed to hold on and seal the match after Malik Tillman scored a free kick from the edge of the penalty area in the 82nd minute.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will take on Belgium in the next round at Seattle Stadium on July 7.
